Who Are You Hiring?
Let’s be real—most people scroll through a portfolio, see a few pretty shots, and think, "Cool, they can take a photo." But when you book a session, you’re not just hiring a finger to click a shutter; you’re inviting a human into your space! I’m a firm believer that the best photos happen when our personalities actually vibe. If you’re looking for a stiff, "smile-on-command" robot, I might not be your gal.
But, if you want a photographer who’s a mix of world-traveled former model, animal-obsessed Michigan native, and total gaming nerd, then we’re going to get along famously! Whether I’m dodging dust at a horse show or hype-girling you into feeling like a superstar, I bring a lot of heart (and probably a little bit of chaotic "redhead energy") to every shoot. I want to make sure we’re the perfect match because when you’re comfortable enough to be your true self, that’s when the real magic—and the best memories—actually happen.
From the Saddle to the Studio: My Journey
Born and raised in the heart of Michigan, I spent my childhood seeing the world through a pair of horse ears. Back then, you’d rarely find me at a show without a disposable camera glued to my hand. I was obsessed with freezing those moments in time, though I never dreamed that "hobby" would become my life’s work.
After aging out of 4-H, I traded the saddle for the spotlight and stepped in front of the lens as a model. That whirlwind adventure took me across the globe—from local sets to the stunning streets of Seville, Spain.
Traveling the world as a model was my unofficial masterclass. I had the incredible opportunity to work with photographers from every corner of the globe, soaking up their secrets, styles, and technical wizardry. Today, I’ve taken all those lessons from both sides of the camera to create something truly special behind the lens!
Behind the Lens & Back Home
I even had a few "star turns" in music videos! But as the years rolled by, the allure of the road started to fade. I felt a pull to be home more and, more importantly, a calling to share the incredible spark of self-confidence that modeling gave me with others.
I picked up my camera again, realized I had a world-class education stored in my head from years of global shoots, and decided it was time to step behind the lens for good.
It wasn’t until I really leaned into this career that I realized how deep my "shutterbug" roots actually go. My father passed away when I was only nine, but he was rarely seen without a tape recorder strapped to his hand. He documented everything. Without those videos, I wouldn’t truly know the man he was. He showed me that a camera isn’t just a tool—it’s a way to keep the people we love with us forever. Now, I get to do that for you!
Capturing Your "Always"
If there is one thing losing my dad taught me, it’s that no one is promised forever. Photos are so much more than just ink on paper or pixels on a screen; they are the anchors for our memories. That’s why I pour my heart into every session. My goal isn’t just to hand you a gallery of images, but to give you an amazing experience and a way to hold onto your most precious moments for a lifetime.
When I’m not behind the lens, you can usually find me in one a few places:
- At the Barn: I’m a Michigan girl through and through, so I’m often at a horse show—either capturing the action from the rail or in the ring showing myself!
- Leveling Up: On my quiet days, I’m at home gaming with my significant other and one of my five cats on my lap, enjoying some much-needed downtime.
- Fueling My Adrenaline: I'm a huge adventurer. Rock climbing, zip lining, hiking, kayaking, or pretty much anything that makes the heart race.
I hope this gives you a little window into my world! Choosing a photographer is a big decision, and I’d love to be the one to help you preserve your story.
